Our vases are proudly crafted in Portugal – a country with an impressively long and proud ceramic tradition. For centuries, Portuguese artisans have shaped clay inspired by the country’s rich nature, rolling landscapes and the ever-present Atlantic Ocean.
Craftsmanship from Portugal
This heritage of skill and artistry provides the perfect backdrop for our collection. In close collaboration with a local workshop along Portugal’s historic ceramic coastline – one that shares Knabstrup’s values of quality and authenticity – every design begins on Eric’s potter’s wheel and is carefully transformed by skilled hands into unique vases. Here, Portuguese craftsmanship meets Danish design sensibility, resulting in a collection that carries both the spirit of the Portuguese landscape and the simplicity of Scandinavian aesthetics.
Knabstrup’s Proud Legacy
Knabstrup’s story dates back to 1645, when it began as a brickworks and, in 1897, took its first steps into ceramics with the production of simple clay flowerpots. Since then, generations of talented artisans have created everything from vases to tableware, always guided by a passion for timeless design and functional craftsmanship.
Today, Knabstrup is part of the Stelton family and continues its 128-year tradition of authentic Scandinavian ceramics. Classic shapes and clean lines remain a tribute to Nordic design while being carried forward in new, contemporary expressions.
New Colours for Autumn
This autumn, our classic Knabstrup vase family welcomes two beautiful new shades: matte dusty rose and matte celadon green. Both hues bring a calm, modern character that fits perfectly in Nordic interiors – whether you prefer soft, warm tones or fresh, serene greens.
For smaller styling moments, our popular mini vase set is now available in matte misty green, celadon green and dark green – three harmonious shades that create subtle depth and contrast. Perfect for single stems, small bouquets or simply as decorative objects in their own right.
